In September over the Labor Day weekend thru our fund raising efforts via 'pork butt' sales
we raised $730.80 to fund the purchase of dictionaries donated for the personal use
of 479 Title I third grade students in seven Okaloosa elementary schools.

Thru the kindness of the Superintendent's office our dictionaries were delivered by courier
to six of the seven schools that were chosen to receive our donation.  The seventh school (Longwood Elementary), we selected for our personal presentation.  The interest, excitement and delight
exhibited by the students was overwhelming.  The fact that each child could keep his/her
very own book was evidenced by the appreciation of these precious little ones.  
It made us feel so good to bring such joy to the recipients.

In November we duplicated our efforts thru additional 'pork butt' sales and raised $990.00
plus a donation of $20.00 for a total of $1010.00 to be earmarked for future dictionary
donations to remaining third graders in our Okaloosa school system.  Our goal is
to attempt to provide a dictionary to every third grader in our school system
by the end of 2007.
